Kenya is emerging as a continental pioneer in integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) at a national scale, forging strategic partnerships with leading global tech innovators to drive transformative change across multiple sectors.

Under the visionary leadership of President William Ruto and steered by special technology envoy Philip Thigo, Kenya is moving beyond isolated AI trials to establish a coordinated framework that connects policy, research, and real-world deployment.

In recent months, Amb. Thigo led high-level discussions with Silicon Valley’s AI frontier companies, including Anthropic’s CEO Dario Amodei, to explore practical collaborations that reflect Kenya’s unique priorities, from education and healthcare to climate resilience and food security.

This partnership is not merely about adopting new tech but embedding AI responsibly and effectively within Kenya’s public institutions.
