Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen 

The government has declared Friday, June 6, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Adha.

Through a gazette notice announcement, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen  declared Friday, June 6, a public holiday to mark the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha. 

“It is notified for the general information of the public that in exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 (1) of the Public Holidays Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration declares that Friday, 6th June, 2025, shall be a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Adha,” read the gazette notice.

 Eid ul-Adha is the second of the two main festivals in Islam alongside Eid al-Fitr. It falls on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijja, the twelfth and final month of the Islamic calendar.
