Calls for justice echoed through Uhuru Park on Sunday as the Voices for Palestine released a list of 98 products and brands that continue to support the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The unveiling came during the “Plant a Tree, Save a Life” campaign, a family-friendly fundraiser dedicated to supporting medical relief efforts for Gaza.
Thousands of Kenyans joined the Voices For Palestine peaceful march from Adams Mosque along Ngong road Nairobi to Uhuru Park, demanding justice and raising awareness on the ongoing genocide in Palestine by the Israeli military.
Muslims and other Kenyans from diverse backgrounds joined the event carrying banners inscribed with messages of solidarity with gaza.
Uhuru Park was a beahive of activities and a striking moment was the release of the boycott list an appeal urging Muslims and Kenyans at large to use their consumer power as a weapon of conscience.
“Every penny you spend on products that support the Zionist entity goes directly to funding the war of genocide in gaza,” read a message on the boycott list. “ We can’t say, what will a boycott do? Or will the money I spend really make a difference? Everything makes a difference.”

The 98 products named in the list, ranging from food items to household brands, were presented as part of a broader campaign to awaken awareness about how everyday purchases connect to global struggles. The movement emphasized that boycotts are a peaceful but powerful form of resistance that ordinary citizens can embrace.

The campaign also doubled as a fundraiser, with proceeds directed toward emergency medical aid for Gaza. Performances from school children, speeches, and Qur’an recitations created a solemn yet hopeful mood.
In July this year, Voices for Palestine launched a nationwide tree-planting campaign to raise funds for Palestinians currently facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
Dubbed “Plant a Tree, Save a Life,” the campaign seeks to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to Palestinians suffering under ongoing bombardment and siege, while simultaneously contributing to the Government of Kenya’s climate and reforestation agenda led by President William Ruto.
Gaza is currently enduring one of the worst humanitarian crises in recent history due to the ongoing Israeli siege and relentless bombardment, which has pushed millions to the brink of starvation.
Israel has maintained a blockade on Gaza for 18 years, and since March 2 has sealed all border crossings, blocking the entry of humanitarian aid and worsening already dire conditions in the enclave.
According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, over 65,000 people majority women and children have been killed by the Israeli military. The unrelenting bombardment has devastated the enclave and triggered a deepening hunger crisis.
Last year in November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Over 150 of the 193 United Nations (UN) member states have recognized the State of Palestine.
