Muslim Academy marked a significant milestone today, holding its inaugural Grade 9 graduation ceremony for learners under the new Competency-Based Education (CBC) model. The event celebrated the first cohort to complete this critical level of basic education under the reformed system.

The colorful event brought together students, teachers, parents, and invited guests to celebrate the learners’ successful transition to the next stage of their academic journey.

Speaking during the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed Sheikh, the Director of Da’wah at Jamia Mosque Nairobi, who was the chief guest, congratulated the graduates and urged them to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired to improve themselves and contribute positively to society.

“Education is not just about passing exams; it’s about building character, discipline, and values that reflect who you are as a Muslim and as a responsible citizen,” said Sheikh Mohammed. “Take what you have learned here and make yourselves better individuals who serve humanity with integrity and purpose.”

The academy’s leadership echoed the call for personal development, focusing heavily on character. Both the Head Teacher and the teaching staff used their addresses to encourage the graduates to become better individuals in their future lives.

“You are the pioneers of this new education system, and your success will inspire those who come after you,” said Rashid Abdirahman, the Principal, Muslim Academy. “Strive to be disciplined, responsible, and God-fearing individuals in all that you do.”

Parents who attended the ceremony expressed pride in their children’s achievements and gratitude to the teachers for their dedication and guidance.
