Israel Applying ‘Extreme Pressure’ as Gaza Death Toll Passes 65,000

The war in Gaza has reached new levels of devastation as the death toll surpasses 65,000. According to the latest reports, the Israeli military has killed at least 83 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, including 61 in Gaza City, where a major offensive is still underway despite increasing threats of sanctions against Israel.

According to reports, the Israeli army continues to apply “extreme pressure” on the population, forcing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the north into already overcrowded central and southern Gaza.

The forced displacement has worsened the humanitarian crisis, with families struggling to access food, clean water, and shelter.

Meanwhile, a senior Hamas official narrowly escaped an Israeli missile strike in Qatar. The official revealed that Hamas leaders were specifically targeted in a series of attacks, underscoring Israel’s ongoing strategy of decapitation strikes aimed at the group’s top leadership.

The health ministry in Gaza has confirmed that at least 65,062 Palestinians have been killed and 165,697 wounded since the war began in October 2023. Thousands more are believed to remain buried under rubble from relentless airstrikes. On the Israeli side, 1,139 people were killed during the October 7 attacks carried out by Hamas, and around 200 were taken captive.

The international community has expressed alarm over the escalating civilian toll and the worsening humanitarian situation. Yet, diplomatic efforts to enforce a ceasefire or sanction Israel have thus far failed to halt the military campaign.

As the conflict intensifies, Palestinians in Gaza continue to endure unthinkable suffering, with many questioning how much longer the world will remain a bystander to one of the deadliest wars in recent history.
