Just a day after the Israeli army announced that it was launching the first stage of major attacks in Gaza dubbed “Gideon Chariots.”The Association of Muslim University Students of Kenya during their 1st ever sisters conference held in Nairobi, called for boycott of Pro Israel products. Urging fellow students to support Gaza in whatever way they can , Nabila Ibrahim, Program Director of Family Pledge at the Global Women’s Coalition for Quds and Palestine, delivered a compelling address urging Muslim students to boycott products from companies supporting Israel’s military actions in Gaza. According to Nabila, “Every purchase is a vote. By choosing not to support companies that fund aggression, we stand in solidarity with the oppressed.” She highlighted the effectiveness of boycotts in exerting economic pressure, referencing recent declines in market values for companies like Starbucks and McDonald’s following public backlash over their support for Israeli military attacks in Gaza.

The event, themed “Radiating Faith: The Role of Women in the Muslim Community,” brought together Muslim sisters from various universities and colleges across the country for a day of spiritual enrichment, empowerment, and sisterhood.
