Jamia Mosque Nairobi in collaboration with Embrace, a sisters’ group for reverts and ladies who nurture a curiosity towards Islam will host a special Open Day this Saturday, May 24, 2025, dedicated to welcoming and supporting new Muslim sisters.
The event which will be held at the JMC multipurpose hall aims to provide a nurturing environment for women who have recently embraced Islam, offering them guidance.
“Embrace has created a safe space for socializing with like-minded individuals, discussing lifestyle challenges, and answering important queries,” said Umi Isabellah Wabomba, Committee Member of the Embrace New Muslim Sisters Support Program. “We currently offer free Islamic education and social integration support for new revert sisters. The program was founded in 2024 by a group of dedicated revert sisters who recognized the need for a supportive and understanding community.”
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about Islamic practices and engage in open discussions tailored to their spiritual journey.
So far four Mosques within Nairobi have taken up the initiativie . The four include: Adams Mosque on Ngong Road, Darul Arqam Mosque in Kileleshwa, Parklands Mosque and Jamia Mosque in Nairobi CBD. The Program hosts Coffee Mornings and/or Afternoons for Revert Sisters among other events and support initiatives.
Jamia mosque Nairobi, located on Banda Street in Nairobi’s Central Business District, is renowned for its rich history and commitment to community engagement. Through events like New Muslim Sisters Open Day, Jamia Mosque continues to serve as a beacon of knowledge and unity for Muslims and non-Muslims alike.
